  1. Landscape
The Landscape Horticulture design focuses on interior and exterior landscape design, installation, and management. Many landscape designers have an interest and involvement with gardening, personally or professionally. Some integrate this scope with their design practice, informally or as licensed landscape contractors. Gardens are dynamic and not static after construction and planting are completed, and so in some ways are 'never done.' Involvement with landscape management and direction of ongoing garden direction, evolution, and care depend on the professional's and client's needs and inclinations.
  2. Sandstone
One of the most popular stones for garden paving is sandstone. For a change of pace, try mixing materials to develop your own unique and exciting designs. Sandstone has a subtle blend of beige, cream and yellow tones with occasional light grey veining. We also have a range of matching step designs with our own hand crafted cutters.
  3. Creative Design
Updating your home’s landscaping is a great way to increase the value of your property and create outdoor spaces for relaxing and entertaining. Whether you want to focus on your front yard, backyard or entire piece of land, there are many interesting options to consider. In the backyard you can create a space for entertaining friends and family complete with an outdoor kitchen, fire feature, pool and more, or you could create a lush garden that attracts wildlife and allows you to relax and reflect. In the front yard you could amp up curb appeal with a beautiful walkway or you could tear up your lawn in favor of an eco-friendly garden. Use this information to start determining what you want in your new landscape.
  4. Xeriscape
Originally developed for drought-afflicted areas, the principles of xeriscape today have an ever broadening appeal. ... Xeriscape can reduce landscape water use by 50 - 75%. ... Use of native plants, shrubs and trees offer a familiar and varied habitat for local wildlife. A landscaping method developed especially for arid and semiarid climates that utilizes water-conserving techniques
  5. Indigenous plants
Native plants are plants indigenous to a given area in geologic time. This includes plants that have developed, occur naturally, or existed for many years in an area (trees, flowers, grasses, and other plants). Some native plants have adapted to very limited, unusual environments or very harsh climates or Exceptional soil conditions. Although some types of plants for these reasons exist only within a very limited range (endemism), others can live in diverse areas or by adaptation to different surroundings. Research has found that insects depend on native plants
  6. Our Goal
Design factors include objective qualities such as: climate and microclimates; topography and orientation, site drainage and groundwater recharge; municipal and resource building codes; soils and irrigation; human and vehicular access and circulation; recreational amenities (i.e.: sports and water); furnishings and lighting; native plant habitat botany when present; property safety and security; construction detailing; and other measurable considerations.

Nature is part of our lives
SummerSweet was established in 1986 with nothing more than a degree in Horticulture and an idea. How can we provide a service that can be both beneficial to the environment and pleasing to the homeowner? As a Horticulturist I knew with proper emphasis on soil, trees, shrubs and colors we could not only beautify our surrounding areas but we could also attract birds, butterflies, beneficial insects and keep our cities cooler. Each home or project is uniquely different.
