Full service landscape company with more than 28 years in business. Horticulturist/owner.
Over the past 30 years I have learned a lot. At New Mexico State University I was educated in Horticulture and Landscape Design.
Under the Horticultural program we learned about Agronomy ( soils) , Entomology( insects) , Biology, Chemistry , Pathology ( diseases). Everthing that was needed to be a Professional. Sure I have my education but I've learned so much from my hands on experiance.
Many years ago when I started Summersweet Landscapes. Other landscapers would ask me. "Do you need a degree to do landscaping"? I answered " no you don't , but I do". I started Landscape Design when I was in high school. I was trained by a Horticulturist also from N.M.S.U. He taught us that the Horticultural field was a professional one. And that the industry should be respected as one. Professional.
He had all students join Future Farmers of America. It was mandatory , inorder; to be enrolled in his class. We went through competition in design. In my last two years of high school competition I was on both District and State Landscape Design Championship team. I graduated with both high school diploma and two year vocational technical certificate in Horticulture. After high school I attended N.M.S.U. where I got my Bachelor in Science Degree in Agriculture.
I've been in business for 30 years. I love what I do . I love to interact with my clients. I work hand and hand with them. I over see all projects. So if ever there are concerns or changes we take care of it. With no middle man. We are easy to get in touch with not only from 9 to 5 most of the day , everyday, weekends no matter. We are hands on and personal. My clients enjoy that personal attention. I love to create. I love designing. Its wonderful to invision a landscape concept. Then implement into a master design.
Here at Summersweet like I learned many years ago. Horticulture is a proffessional field. And I respect the field I've chosen. I respect that clients work hard to enjoy the finer things in life. I respect their hard work. I work hard to provide the best work that we can. I've always have said that I am not perfect and that I do make mistakes , but I do not run from them. I stay until they are corrected and until my clients are totally satisfied.
Before reccession we had a triple plus rating with B.B.B. Summersweet for 30 years has been busy by word of mouth only. As of recession so much has changed. So, this year we have decided to try this great organization Angies Lisit. So please call us Summersweet Landscapes.
Thank you Eric and Carmela.
